This is a great opportunity to learn new stitches, start projects you may be intimidated to start on your own. Come stitch and create in an environment of like-minded wool applique lovers! BRING a finished project for SHOW & SHARE! Please use the WEBSITE to signup and pay for the class.
In this introductory class to slow stitching, you will learn a brief history of slow stitch: where did it start? What is it? Why might you be interested in pursuing slow stitching? Once you have some background, we will create a needlebook in which the cover is slow stitched. Participants should have some experience with a needle and thread, but in no way need to be master embroiderers! A kit for the base and interior of the needlebook and needle will be provided as well as a choice of ?filler fabric? but participants should plan to bring: *a 5 x 5 inch charm pack of favorite fabrics (or at least 4-5 coordinating fabrics [scraps are fine] in various prints and textures). *embroidery floss or perle cotton floss that coordinates with your fabric. *scissors *pins or glue stick Please come with a spirit and willingness to play, explore and create!!!
