Introduction to Slow Stitching
In this introductory class to slow stitching, you will learn a brief history of slow stitch: where did it start? What is it? Why might you be interested in pursuing slow stitching? Once you have some background, we will create a needlebook in which the cover is slow stitched.
Participants should have some experience with a needle and thread, but in no way need to be master embroiderers! A kit for the base and interior of the needlebook and needle will be provided as well as a choice of ?filler fabric? but participants should plan to bring:
*a 5 x 5 inch charm pack of favorite fabrics (or at least 4-5 coordinating fabrics [scraps are fine] in various prints and textures).
*embroidery floss or perle cotton floss that coordinates with your fabric.
*pins or glue stick
Please come with a spirit and willingness to play, explore and create!!!
